Novelty candy

Thursday, September, 24, 2015

Hey all, Jordan here with another Awesome English report. In 2013, I went to Nara for the first time and saw many deer walking around. While there are plenty of spots to go sightseeing, I guess the deer are one of the main things about the city. Recently, I received a gift that comes from Nara.

I guess being themed after animal droppings can add to the hilarity. There are plenty of novelty foods like this, but one can appreciate it more if one knows what it’s all about.

Not sure if I want to actually open the bag, but I’m sure I will.

Working out

Thursday, September, 17, 2015

Hey all, Jordan here with another Awesome English report. Last weekend I went up to the gym in Biwajima, which is a little to the north of where I live. It’s a decent facility and pretty big. On hot days, I really like going swimming, but this time I went to the training room. I should and would like to go more often as it was tough.

There’s also a shopping center nearby, so I had some lunch afterwards.

Exercise feels good, but actually being motivated to go out and do it is the real trick. I will keep trying though.

Halloween advertisements already

Thursday, September, 10, 2015

Hey all, Jordan here with another Awesome English report. The other day I was in a store and saw stuff for Halloween out and was a little surprised about the commercialization of that day in Japan. In the US, it’s quite popular and commercialization is very common. In fact, next month we will have Christmas merchandise ready for sale in the US.

I guess the west is rubbing off on things over here.

I guess the next thing is to get trick or treating. If it exists, I haven’t seen it yet.

Okazaki’s Hacho Miso

Thursday, September, 03, 2015

Hey all, Jordan here with another Awesome English report. On the weekend, I went down to Okazaki, which is a city in central Aichi. It’s actually bigger than Nagoya in terms of area. While I was there, I visited a friend and we went to Hacho Miso to see the production of miso products.

It was an interesting place and it seems quite a lot of people visit there. Many were interested in the procedures and history. There were lots of photos and art.

Depicted here is the exterior. If you go to Okazaki, check out this place.
