Baystars!

Monday, August, 26, 2013

Hello everyone! ?It looks like the hellish torrent of rain has brought some cool weather for the time being. ?To be honest, this is my favorite kind of weather. ?And my brother and I made the most of it for sure. ?On Sunday we took a visit to the World Beer Museum in the Landmark Tower dockyard garden and we sampled the beers of the UK, the Czech Republic, Germany, Belgium and the USA. ?Well, I did most of the sampling to be honest. ?But the biggest surprise of all was Canadian beer! ?I hadn’t had a Canadian beer in about 4 years so I couldn’t resist. ?But that was just to get us ready for the main even of the day. ?Japanese baseball! ?I have seen a few games in Japan, but it was my first time for my brother. ?Thankfully we picked a good game – the Baystars versus the Giants. ?And I wish I could say the Baystars won, but that definitely wasn’t the case. ?In fact, I have never seen such a one sided beating in my life. ?The end score was 16 runs for the Giants and 2 runs ?for the Baystars. ?I have never seen that many home runs in a game! ?I actually didn’t think it was possible because I had heard there was a mercy rule in Japanese baseball (I was wrong). ?But even though the Baystars lost, in a way they delivered. ?My brother got to see an exciting game with plenty of hits and homers. ?Baseball where nothing happens can be one of the most boring things in the world. ?My brother continues to enjoy Japan, and I hope he will continue to do so until he goes home. ?

(Short) Summer Holiday!

Monday, August, 19, 2013

Hello everyone, I am back after a short holiday, though I am sure you didn’t notice. ?I am sure you were all busy trying to escape the heat. ?Hope you all made the most of your holidays, because I sure did. ?As I mentioned last week, I spent the majority of my time with my brother. ?We went all over the place. ?We went to Kamakura, Minatomirai, Akihabara, Meiji Jingu, Yoyogi Park, Chinatown…all over the place! ?I definitely gave my feet a workout, but I think my brother has been having a good time. ?He got to try a lot of Japanese food too. ?He tried some okonomiyaki, chanko-nabe, yakiniku, green tea ice cream, sweet potato croquettes, sushi (of course) and so on.

I have definitely enjoyed my time with him, but I think that one week in my tiny apartment is just long enough for us to be together before we start beating each other up.

He’s here for 2 more weeks, but I won’t see too much more of him. ?He is off to Kansai on his own. ?Let’s hope he doesn’t get in to too much trouble!

Until next time!

Family Reunion

Monday, August, 12, 2013

Hello everyone! ?Though I am writing a blog now, trust me, it is the ONLY work I will be doing for the week. ?Why, you ask? ?Well…I am on holiday! ?I have decided take a (I think) well-deserved vacation after a year of hard work. ?And, while the logical course of action would seem to be going back to Canada, I am staying right here. ?However, a piece of Canada is coming to me. ?Just Saturday, my little brother touched down at Narita Airport and we have been ripping it up since then. ?It is his first time in Japan, so I have been taking him around, trying to get him to experience Japanese culture. ?He’s only been here 2 full days, and already I have taken him to Harajuku and Korakuen Hall. ?In Harajuku we checked out the wild and funky Takeshita Dori, and at Korakuen we saw a cool pro wrestling event. ?I have also been taking him around to eat some various kinds of food that he cant’t necessarily get in Toronto, like chanko-nabe and yakiniku. ?I know that those are insane things to eat in this heat, but I think he has been enjoying them! ?Today we are off to Katsuura to check out the fireworks festival and eat some yummy, but unhealthy festival food. ?I can remember when I first came to Japan how amazing I thought the fireworks were, because we don’t get them that big in Canada. ?It has been a long time since I have been new to Japan, but I hope that my brother can enjoy the same experience.

See you later,

Anand

I can’t think

Monday, August, 05, 2013

Here’s a challenge for today. ?See how much you can understand! ?Heat Bug fishing wildly arbitrary catatonic and the the recidivism cub too helper stain tree. ?And then I went fishing. ?Here is the best part about the whole thing. ?It was toxic! ?Forever there is a heat lamp. ?They can put a man on the moon but they can’t crick a crack? ?However I can’t help but think that it’s hargle bargle. ?At the same I imagine that invariably- if not definitely- that I can’t been seen doing otherwise in this case or in any other case. ?But be that as it will, the James Brown James Brown. ?Has it ever been so obvious what to do next with things? ?I can’t say it is the case for me. ?I don’t know what is what anymore, but I think that everything will turn out all right. ?I am not so sure about myself though. ?For who is to say what is and what isn’t nonsense? ?I know I am no authority on the subject. For it is all in the name of love. ?Love is all we need. ?But then again, you can’t make an omelette without breaking some eggs. ?But seriously I want to float out a question to all of you member here and there, if not everywhere. ?How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood. ? I thought this meant something but it doesn’t happy trails everyone! ?Until then, keep taking things easy.
