So, August is a real hot time here in Japan but a good spot for a getaway are the mountains. The area is much cooler and the scenery is fantastic. In my case, I went to Nagano. There are also usually lots of good hotels to stay at call ryokans. You can enjoy a nice time and nice scenery.
